NEW YORK—Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. named Sean Verney general manager of the 873-room The Westin New York at Times Square.
Verney will oversee hotel operations for what was the very first Westin in New York City when it opened in 2002. In addition, he will oversee a lobby and guestroom redesign project and completion of the hotel’s newly decorated meeting and pre-function space.
Prior to this role, Verney was the GM of the Sheraton Parsippany in New Jersey, but has spent most of his career with Starwood in New York City at properties such as the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers and the Sheraton Manhattan.
Verney participated in a number of trainings with Starwood Hotels and Resorts, including Six Sigma Green Belt, Certified Trainer and Certified Interviewer.
