WALTHAM, MA—Tim Kirwan has joined Nickerson, a full-service communications firm that offers a blend of marketing and public relations, as director of the firm’s new hospitality division.
Kirwan will supplement Nickerson’s operations by bringing more than 27 years of industry knowledge to the firm. Kirwan will help launch the company’s hospitality division as well as executing project management tasks while fostering partnerships with new clients, vendors and the community. Kirwan has a talent for developing strategies to help companies break away from their competitors, according to the firm.
“I’m excited to be joining Nickerson,” stated Kirwan. “Offering this full-service approach will be a great value-add to hospitality clients looking to enter the Boston market, grow their business and expand their reach.”
Kirwan, a professional in the Boston hotel and restaurant business, has created, opened and assisted multiple companies in becoming profitable operations. Kirwan works for CV Properties LLC; as VP, he worked with the company’s principals on existing hotel developments. Additionally, Kirwan works for Hotel Creation New England, a retained consulting firm focused on the hospitality business, where, as principal, he utilized expertise in design, development, openings and marketing/PR.
Kirwan formerly served as managing director of Hotel Commonwealth in Kenmore Square, which included 13 boutique stores, the Eastern Standard Brassiere and the Great Bay Restaurant. He has received the AAA 4-Diamond Hotel award for the Hotel Commonwealth and the 364-room Westin in Providence, which he opened and managed for seven years.
Lisa Nickerson, principal of Nickerson, stated, “Tim’s proven operational leadership and keen understanding of the Boston market make him a natural choice to lead our new hospitality division.”
