LodgeWorks Partners Taps Mannon as VP/Development

NEW YORK—LodgeWorks Partners, L.P. has named Bob Mannon as its VP/development to lead the company's expansion efforts.
This company has debuted two New York hotels in the past six weeks with the recent opening of the Archer Hotel New York, followed by the Hampton Inn Brooklyn/Downtown.
Mannon brings nearly 30 years of expertise to his new post with two-thirds of his career having been spent in the hospitality industry with Marriott International. In his new role, Mannon will oversee all areas of development, including market analysis, property selection, land use matters, financial analysis, contract negotiations, estimating and finance structure.

When you hear all the lodging industry projections for the months and years to come, much of the robust growth is forecast to be the result of the expected influx of travelers from China. In what could only be seen as good news for the industry, that expectation moved a little closer to reality when President Obama signed a visa waiver extension for Chinese travelers earlier this month.
