SAN FRANCISCO—Tom Klein, Regional VP of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts for California and GM of The Fairmont San Francisco, has been appointed to the California Hotel & Lodging Association (CH&LA) as its secretary/treasurer for the board of directors.
Previously, Klein served as regional vice president, The Americas for Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts, overseeing properties in Peru and Ecuador, as well as serving as the GM of Swissôtel Chicago. He also served as SVP, The Americas for Raffles International Limited from 2001 to 2003, where he oversaw the operations of six hotels in North American and two properties in South American.
Klein said in a statement, “I am honored to join CH&LA’s board of directors in this role and look forward to supporting the organization’s mission to protect the rights and interests of the lodging industry in the great state of California. A continued emphasis on communication, educational training and cost-saving programs will enable us to achieve a number of shared goals for all segments.”
