SAN ANTONIO—Detroit-based Kraemer Design Group, PLC (KDG) completed custom architectural and interior redesign of the Holiday Inn San Antonio Riverwalk.
The 23-story, 313-room Holiday Inn San Antonio Riverwalk features Intercontinental Hotel Group’s (IHG) new “Breeze” standard room design scheme, centered on modern and open layouts with a fresh, clean aesthetic.
To update the appearance of the hotel, which first opened in 1987 to meet IHG’s 2013 brand standards while providing travelers with all of the modern lodging conveniences, KDG tackled a number of design challenges, including closing in balconies to increase square footage in the guestrooms and restructuring the multi-tiered restaurant to become more handicap accessible.
“The comprehensive design solution that KDG completed for the Holiday Inn San Antonio Riverwalk is just a small sample of our firm’s deep relationship with the IHG brand and our hospitality design expertise,” stated Kraemer Design Group, PLC Principal Bob Kraemer. “KDG is also leading IHG’s development of a new food and beverage concept called ‘Burger Bar,’ with a prototype currently under construction in Atlanta.”
