Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group Appoints Chris Ivy as Chief Development Officer in the Americas

MINNEAPOLIS—Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has appointed Chris Ivy as chief development officer in the Americas, effective today.
Ivy will report directly to Thorsten Kirschke, president, Americas. “Chris’ appointment will help Carlson Rezidor drive and deliver our development strategy, with a strong focus on significantly increasing the pipeline of owned/managed and franchised hotels through a targeted development strategy,” said Kirschke. “Through key relationships with owners, developers, management companies and financial institutions, he will also identify strategic investment opportunities.”
Ivy joins Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group from Interstate Hotels and Resorts, where he was executive vice president, acquisitions & development. Prior to that, he served for seven years as senior vice president, real estate & development for Hyatt Hotels Corporation, and as vice president, lodging development for Marriott International for eight years. He also worked as director of development for Westin in Seattle and as director of acquisitions for American General Hospitality Corporation.
Ivy holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the Rawls School of Business at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX.
