Starwood Unveils Plans for Element in Orlando

STAMFORD, CT—Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. unveiled plans for the Element Orlando North as part of a redevelopment of Orlando Fashion Square on Colonial Drive.
The hotel, which will be the brand's third n Florida following Element Miami International Airport and Element Miami Doral, is scheduled to open in July 2015. The property is owned by a joint venture between UP Development, StaySharpe and LBK Hotel Ventures.
The eight-story hotel will offer 151 sustainable rooms and will be just 20 minutes from Universal Orlando Resort and less than 30 minutes from Walt Disney World Resort.

When you hear all the lodging industry projections for the months and years to come, much of the robust growth is forecast to be the result of the expected influx of travelers from China.
