RCI Adds Empark Hotels and Resorts Group to Portfolio

SINGAPORE—RCI has expanded its portfolio of more than 4,000 affiliated resorts in over 100 countries through its affiliation with Empark Hotels and Resorts Group.
The agreement includes seven resorts in China: Empark Grand Hotel Anhui near the Chaoho Lake in the Lakeshore New District; Empark Grand Hotel Fuzhou Gui’an in the Gui’an Hot Spring Resort area; Empark Grand Hotel Ningbo Hangzhou Bay; Empark Grand Hotel Kumming in Guandu town; Empark Grand Hotel Tengchong; and Empark Grand Hotel Xishuangbanna in Jinghong City.
“In cooperation with RCI, Empark Hotels and Resorts Group is excited to launch a shared ownership product for the growing Chinese consumer market,” said Lan Yang, VP of Empark Hotels and Resorts Group, in a statement. “Our established brand will further strengthen the shared ownership options for Chinese consumers and our future owners will be able to enjoy the benefits of shared ownership through RCI, both in China and abroad.”

When you hear all the lodging industry projections for the months and years to come, much of the robust growth is forecast to be the result of the expected influx of travelers from China. In what could only be seen as good news for the industry, that expectation moved a little closer to reality when President Obama signed a visa waiver extension for Chinese travelers earlier this month.
