LONDON—IHG has signed its third InterContinental property in London: InterContinental London The O2, following the InterContinental London Westminster and the InterContinental London Park Lane.
Scheduled to open in 2015, the 452-room hotel will operate under a franchise agreement with Meridian Hotel Operations Limited and will be managed by Arora Hotels.
The hotel will feature a health spa, numerous restaurants, a club lounge, main bar and a sky bar with 180-degree views over Canary Wharf and the River Thames. In addition, it will have a 3,000-m. open-plan ballroom.
Located on the Greenwich Peninsula, the hotel is immediately adjacent to The O2 Arena, which hosts nearly 200 events annually, attracting roughly 7.5 million visitors.
InterContinental London The O2 is the 53rd hotel in the pipeline for the brand and will join the global portfolio of 170 InterContinental hotels across the world when it opens in 2015.
