NEW YORK—Marriott International and MindClick Global, which provides supply chain sustainability performance and sourcing solutions, have expanded their partnership to include the office, supplies and equipment (OS&E) market.
The announcement was made from the 2013 Boutique Design New York conference at the Jacob Javits Center here. The expansion of the initiative follows positive results in the furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E) market as some 75% of Marriott’s FF&E spend is with suppliers which have been part of the MindClick Global Sustainability Index, according to the company.
Bradley Hugh Colton, strategic projects, global procurement, global operations services, Marriott International, noted of the index, “this is a great measurement tool. It’s been good on the FF&E side and we’re embracing it and going to the OS&E market.” He also noted there has been a 50% increase in supplier participation of the program in just two months.
The development follows the recent launch of the Rest Better sustainability program, a MindClick and Marriott initiative to educate travelers about guest well-being and the benefits of positive of sustainable FF&E hotel purchasing practices.
Colton further noted, “the buzz is pretty strong out there and I think it’s going to be even better.”
